For us, the Fresh-Air House, also called a Passive-House, is one of the best and most important innovations since houses have existed - but they are very rare! In order to fulfil the passive house standard, special conditions must be created. The house insulation must be very good, from 0.15 W/(m²K) The houses must be absolutely windproof. The wind tightness is tested by a technique developed for this purpose - the Blower Door test Since the house is windproof, a ventilation system must be installed. These 4 essential prerequisites can only be fulfilled with great effort using traditional house construction methods. Today's modern timber frame construction in particular has difficulties in achieving the necessary windproofness and especially in maintaining it over the life cycle of the house. It is easy to understand why this construction method has this problem. Timber-frame houses consist of a large number of individual components, which makes it difficult to make them windproof, but wood "works", over the course of time the components shrink and the windproofness is lost. SOTA-DOMUS construction method ideally fulfils the passive house requirements. The SOTA-DOMUS exterior wall panels are absolutely waterproof and windproof. The exterior walls consist of only 2 elements, the panels and the connecting profiles. Already from an outer wall thickness of 150mm, SOTA-DOMUS exterior wall panels fulfil the required U-value of 0,15 W/(m²K). The SOTA-DOMUS panels can be broken through at all necessary points in order to install the ventilation elements. Due to the flat honeycomb supporting structure of the panels, no reinforcements such as window lintels etc. are required for openings. In contrast to conventional construction systems, a passive house ventilation system with the SOTA-DOMUS construction method is less expensive than a conventional heating and cooling system! SOTA-DOMUS construction technology will help the fantastic passive house technology to achieve a breakthrough - for the benefit of the house occupants and the environment.
